RemedX is seeking a Health and Safety Supervisor who will demonstrate safety leadership by developing and implementing RemedX’s Health and Safety (H&S) programs and implementing and supervising health and safety operations at all western Canada site locations.
The Supervisor will collaborate with RemedX’s operations team to align H&S standards, and be active on sites as required to provide visibility and direction, and participate in H&S activities. The Supervisor will perform periodic inspection audits and produce reports with recommendations and corrective action plans. The Supervisor is responsible to participate and/or lead Accident and Incident Investigations and make recommendations for effective incident reduction strategies.
The Supervisor will be required to research and develop training courses and materials for our operations staff, and prepare reports, statistic charts, graphs and presentation materials and will participate in auditing activities required for the annual Certificate of Recognition (COR) program and ensure COR/ISNet compliance.
The successful applicant will ideally possess the following skills and experience:
• A university degree or technical diploma in H&S or a related field;
• A minimum of 5 years’ experience in HS preferably in the construction or oil and gas industry;
• Strong leadership skills with a cooperative and helpful attitude towards colleagues;
• Proficiency with computer systems and applications including the Microsoft Office Suite;
• Excellent communication and presentation skills, both written and verbal;
• Able to spend at least 50% of the time in the field at sites in and around Calgary, actively engaging and influencing frontline personnel to foster a culture of safety excellence and compliance with H&S standards.
