The Environmental Services Association of Alberta (ESAA) invites its members to enter the 2020 ESAA Photo Contest! You must read the following rules, terms, and conditions prior to entering.
Rules
Entries will be judged on technical skill and creativity. Entries should include:
- Photographer’s name and member organization
- Brief description of the photo (what it portrays, intent)
- No visible logos in the photo
- No identifiable people in the photo
Note: By submitting the photo, the submitter of the photo warrants that he or she is the holder of any and all intellectual property and related rights associated with the photo and, in exchange for participation in this contest, allows ESAA the right to use the submitted photo for any purpose, including future marketing materials.
The ESAA Photo Contest is open to member organizations ONLY unless entered into the non-member category (see below).
There is a special category for non-members. This portion of the contest is open to all novice photographers that would like to participate but are not ESAA members. The non-member category will be judged against other non-members photos and will not be included in the member category of the contest. The winner is not eligible for the prize of a canvas photo of their print but will be acknowledged on social media and at RemTech 2020. Non-members are only allowed to submit ONE photo per person.
What to Enter
The theme for this year’s photo contest is “Get Creative”. It light of the current health crisis affecting us all, this years theme will keep you closer to home, safe and social distancing. Get Creative – try some macro shots, play with light, create some abstract work, photograph your plants, your backyard wildlife. Surprise Us.
Entries will be disqualified that include distinguishable people, locations, logos or images that have been heavily manipulated. It is acceptable to adjust images to achieve a colour balance that reflects the scene as you observed it. Cropping is also acceptable. ESAA has the right to disqualify any image which it feels has been overly altered.
Photo captions must accompany all submissions and should include the subject of the image, the location the image was taken, and the name of the photographer(s) and the photographer(s) affiliation with the member organization (unless in the non-member category).
