The Opportunity
Aurora is seeking a Senior Environmental Project Manager to lead complex environmental and contaminated sites projects across Alberta and Saskatchewan. This role is responsible for full project delivery, technical leadership, client relationships, and mentoring project teams, while supporting business development and upholding strong safety, quality, and regulatory standards.
This position blends senior-level project management with deep environmental expertise in remediation, reclamation, environmental monitoring, and regulatory approvals. At Aurora, Senior Project Managers are trusted to lead strategically, influence project standards, and help shape how work is delivered within a
collaborative, high-performing consulting team.
Role Accountabilities:
Project Delivery & Technical Oversight
- Lead reclamation and/or contaminated sites projects from initiation through close-out, ensuring quality, schedule, budget, and regulatory requirements are met.
- Develop detailed scopes of work, cost estimates, project plans, schedules, and deliverables for projects of low to high complexity involving multi-disciplinary teams and sub-consultants.
- Manage remediation and/or reclamation projects including staffing coordination, client deliverables, equipment oversight, invoicing, and accounts receivable.
- Provide guidance and recommendations on project-specific assessments and regulatory requirements in Alberta and Saskatchewan.
- Prepare and oversee regulatory submissions and professional technical reports on behalf of clients.
- Coordinate and manage sub-consultants and subcontractors, ensuring scope alignment, performance, and regulatory compliance.
- Promote and model Aurora’s corporate, safety, quality, and environmental policies across all projects.
Leadership, Client & Business Engagement
- Provide senior-level technical expertise and strategic advice to Aurora clients related to remediation, reclamation, and environmental services. Develop and maintain strong working relationships with clients, regulators, and key stakeholders, acting as a senior point of contact.
- Mentor, coach, and provide technical leadership to Project Managers, junior technical staff, and consultants.
- Support business development activities, including proposal development, Statements of Qualifications and client engagement, as required.
- Support the continuous improvement of project delivery practices, technical standards, and team capability within the Environmental Division.
- Undertake other environmental-related project work as required.
Qualifications & Experience:
Education & Designations
- Post-secondary education in Environmental Sciences or a related discipline (Biology, Land Reclamation, Forestry, Agrology, Engineering, or similar).
- Professional designation in Alberta and/or Saskatchewan (P.Eng., P.Ag., P. Biol., P. Geol., R.P.F., or equivalent).
- Project management experience in an environmental consulting context is required.
Experience
- 10–15 years of experience within the Environmental Consulting industry, including senior-level project management of reclamation and/or remediation projects.
- Proven success delivering complex projects valued at $1M+, on time and on budget.
- Strong technical expertise in Phase I, II, and III ESAs, remediation, reclamation supervision, groundwater monitoring, and environmental monitoring programs.
- Experience working within Alberta and Saskatchewan regulatory frameworks.
- Prior experience in the upstream oil and gas industry is considered an asset.

Additional Requirements
- Valid Class 5 Driver’s License and current driver’s abstract.
- Strong understanding of safety requirements and experience working around field and heavy equipment.
