THE OPPORTUNITY

Triton Environmental Consultants Ltd. (“Triton”) is seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic Contaminated Sites Project Manager , to join a well-established team of environmental professionals based out of any of our western Canadian offices (BC, AB, SK).

The successful candidate will be a part of the Assessment and Reclamation team who work throughout western Canada. Our project managers are the cornerstone of our company and are committed to outstanding client service. In this role you will be responsible for managing the on-time and on-budget delivery of projects and providing mentorship to more junior staff. Our client base ranges from regional clients to multi-national oil and gas companies, to government, First Nations, power management, and transportation firms.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:
• Planning, organizing, and managing a diverse array of contaminated sites and reclamation projects, people, and tasks
• Providing technical and regulatory expertise regarding contaminated sites work
• Liaising and negotiating with partners, clients, regulators, contractors, and sub-contractors
• Writing and reviewing high-quality technical reports, cost estimates, and proposals
• Creating project status reports and maintaining project documentation
• Leading technical teams to ensure the quality, cost, and timeliness of deliverables
• Providing mentorship and training for our environmental professional team
• Providing excellent service to existing clients and maintaining those relationships
• Supporting corporate business development initiatives
• Ensuring clients’ and Triton’s safety standards are maintained or exceeded
• Working collaboratively within the Triton corporate culture
SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS
• Degree or diploma in a related field (e.g., environmental science, hydrogeology, chemistry, environmental engineering). A graduate degree (M.Sc.) in a related discipline is an asset.
• A minimum of seven years of relevant experience in the environmental industry
• Accreditation with professional governing body recognized in BC (i.e,. P.Ag., P.Geo.) is required. Dual membership in AB or SK would be an asset.
• Detailed knowledge of and experience with relevant Federal and Provincial legislation, environmental standards, regulations and guidelines
• Experience with project management, leading projects, as well as leading project teams (i.e., budgeting, project tracking, cost-accounting, and scope control) and with the leadership and supervision of contaminated sites project teams
• A quick learner, easily adapting to new software applications, systems, and business processes
• Effective writing skills, and ability to produce meaningful reports and proposals
• Superbly organized and self-managed, with a collaborative working style
• Strong problem-solver able to address challenges with effective solutions that improve systems and/or relationships, and with the ability to think outside the box
• Valid driver’s licence from a Canadian province or territory acceptable for driving alone and with passengers in a work setting

SCHEDULE

This is a flexible position that can be based out of any of our corporate offices in BC, AB, or SK, remotely, or as a hybrid work arrangement. While we encourage staff to come into the office when they can to collaborate with the team in person, this is not a requirement.

COMPENSATON

The compensation is dependent upon candidate experience and qualifications. The pay range is yet to be determined and could be approx., $85,000 – $120,000.
