Overview of the Role
The RCA Board and Executive Director (ED) are looking for a mission-focused, strategic and process-minded leader with experience managing the day-to-day operations of an organization.
Reporting to the ED, the Operations Manager will be responsible for the daily management of activities, programs, and operations to ensure effectiveness and efficiency. On a strategic level, the Operations Manager will ensure the RCA has the right systems and processes in place to achieve its goals, while also contributing to the ongoing development and implementation of business planning, reporting and budgeting. This is a key role directly supporting the ED and providing logistical support to the RCA’s Board of Directors. This role is fully remote with occasional travel required.
Develop the Annual Business Plan with guidance from the ED
Prepare the Annual Report with support from the Communications and Marketing Lead
Prepare the Annual Budget with guidance from the ED
Governance and Board Support
Provide support to the Board for its governance duties
Develop board meeting packages with support from the Administrator
Provide project team and committee support
Manage all RCA contracts
Manage RCA staff, including seasonal employees
Provide administrative support as it relates to membership, record management
RCA Projects and Initiatives
Manage and deliver projects and initiatives with the support of the Project Coordinator and Communications and Marketing Lead
You have 5 – 10 years of experience with a company or non-profit organization(s) successfully leading or supporting efficient and effective operations and/or administration.
Preferred education related to environmental science, business administration or similar.
Experience related to solid waste management, waste reduction, waste diversion and circular economy is an asset.
Demonstrated experience in developing and managing budgets.
Experience working in the environmental and/or non-profit sector is an asset.
Experience in Governance and Board Relations is also considered an asset.

$60,000 – 70,000 annually, based on relevant experience
Approximately 35 hours per week (salaried)
Totally remote with occasional travel required
