Reporting to the Manager – Environmental Strategy and Compliance, the Environmental Specialist plays a pivotal role in ensuring our various operations align with environmental regulations and best practices. This role will manage diverse environmental projects, obtaining necessary approvals, and collaborating with regulatory bodies. Additionally, this position will provide technical expertise, manage various environmental related assessment and oversee mitigation measures.

Your key responsibilities
• Develop, plan, and execute environmental programs and initiatives.
• Obtain construction and regulatory approvals and notifications for project construction and site access.
• Collaborate with regulatory bodies on various environmental issues.
• Manage contaminated sites and interpret environmental reports and regulatory requirements.
• Lead change management strategies and contribute to corporate efficiencies.
• Prepare and submit regulatory reports and approvals. Experience with environmental and air emissions related regulatory reporting for industrial plants and/or aggregate facilities, air emissions calculations and/or environmental audits considered an asset.
• Supervise contractors and oversee project budgets and timelines.
• Interpret environmental data and present findings to stakeholders.

Qualifications
• Post-secondary degree or diploma in an environmental-related discipline.
• Environmental professional designation in Alberta is an asset.
• Five (5) years of relevant work experience.
• Possession of a valid Class 5 Driver’s License with an acceptable driving record.
• An equivalent combination of management approved education and experience may be considered.
